Since I discovered west coast swing at a Jive Addiction Event four or five years ago now, I've been bitten by the bug and I've wanted to do more and more and more - learn, dance, explore, get better, dance longer. Dancing is something for everyone and if you fancy learning or doing then you should just come along and try the classes at Daylight Inn, Petts Wood.
My good friend Pauline Dickson said that we can't all be Tatianna's and Jordan's and it's true but heck we can take a leaf out of their book and enjoy the dance as much as they do.
It's also Pauline that talked me into learning to teach. I'm a new dancer and even newer to teaching but she is persuasive and has set me on the path this summer and I love it. The new dancers who have joined and have stuck with me through the last weeks have been a superb group of dancers. They've asked difficult questions, concentrated hard in class and practiced with lots of difference people in the social dancing at the end of the evening. I don't have the words to say how much I have enjoyed watching and dancing with them all.
I don't always have the answers to the difficult questions (of which there are a few) but that's ok. Every question makes me work harder and they are all making me a more thoughtful dancer and hopefully teacher. I love a good question that you can take away and have a wee think about, a wee Google and a mull everything over. The more you ask of me, the harder I will work for you and hopefully we will both become better dancers at the end.
Thank you to all the new dancers at WestCo's who started the journey with me this summer. It's been so much fun, I look forward to dancing with you all every single week. xx
